Notarization Check List
- Valid identification: A valid form of identification is required to complete notarization. In the state of Colorado, a valid form of ID is a goverment issued ID /license, passport, or military ID. It can’t be more than 1 year expired.
- Notarial certificate: To complete notarization, a notarial certificate is required. If a notarial certificate isn’t available, the signer must know which certificate is needed. A notary cannot choose the notarial certificate for the signer. It is against Colorado State law to do so.
- Signer(s) physically present: Is it required for all parties that are signing the document to be physically present during the notarization.
- Witnesses present: Some notarizations require the signer to have witnesses present during signing.
- Valid payment: A valid form of payment is required. I do accept cash
Apostille /Authentication Checklist
Before submitting documents for apostille or authentication, I will need the following information:
- Documents: Documents that are being sent abroad are needed during the appointment.
- Destination country identified: We need to know which country the document will be used in.
- Original or certified document available: Copies may not be accepted, depending on document type.
- Proper notarization completed (if required): Some documents must be notarized before submission.
- Correct signer information provided: Names must match IDs and documents exactly
- Timeline expectations reviewed: Processing times vary by agency and destination country.
- Contact information confirmed: We need a reliable phone number and email to provide updates.
- Valid payment: A valid form of payment is required. I do accept cash.
